Get the word out about Ontario's Green Future! Take Action |
Support the Campaign for a Responsible Energy Plan for Ontario This campaign is a grassroots effort coordinated by the Ontario Clean Air Alliance. We believe that the people of Ontario will have a brighter future if we embrace an eco-efficient energy system and move away from the costly big power status quo. You can get involved by volunteering with the campaign, passing literature to your friends, coworkers and family, linking to this website, or by making a financial contribution. Be sure to sign our petition and download a copy to circulate in your community, workplace or school. Stay in touch by subscribing to the OCAA's clean air email bulletin list and our No Nukes News. We need volunteers to help with our efforts to spread the word,. If you want to do something about climate change and air quality, this is a great chance to have a major long-lasting impact! Email our Campaign Manager; Angela Bischoff, Angela@cleanairalliance.org or call 416-926-1907 x246 to find out more about current volunteering opportunities. Or you can use the Volunteer Form below to let us know you're interested.
Click here to order pamphlets now! Make everyone you know aware of the choices Ontario is facing and how we can reduce the climate impact of electricity use. Your friends need to know now about the opportunity to build a Green Future in Ontario. Get the conversation started by asking them if they have ever noticed that debt retirement charge on their hydro bill and if they are prepared to see it increase. Please link to this site, mention our campaign on your blog or post it on your wall on Facebook. You can copy thebutton or banner below or copy the code below the images into your page.

Click here to download the flyer. You can also write a letter or opinion piece for your local paper pointing out the costly mistake Ontario is on the verge of making. Your letter is most likely to get published if you respond quickly to a political statement or news story printed in the paper (in the age of email, the letter to the editor page has a fast turnaround).
Host a coffee or wine & cheese party for your friends and neighbours with a speaker from the Green Futures campaign. Email Campaign Manager; Angela Bischoff, Angela@cleanairalliance.org or call 416-926-1907 x246 if you'd be interested in hosting a party and we'll help you get organized and arrange for a presentation. If you have other ideas for raising awareness, please contact Campaign Manager; Angela Bischoff, Angela@cleanairalliance.org or call 416-926-1907 x246 Contact your MPP Call your MPP and tell them you can think of many better ways of spending $26 billion or more than building new high-risk nuclear plants. Tell them Ontario needs to get its priorities straight by fully investing in energy efficiency, renewable power and clean combined heat and power before spending another dime on nuclear. Better yet, get a group together and request a meeting with your MPP to discuss the issue face-to-face. MPPs are always ready to meet constiuents and this can have a powerful impact. Click here for info on finding your MPP. We need your financial help to make this campaign a success. Your dollars can help us produce materials, talk to voters, and spread the message about the real alternatives to high-cost nuclear and dirty coal. If you believe that we should be doing more to address our climate impact and that renewable energy and greater efficiency are among the best ways to address climate change, please make a contribution to the campaign. Due to Revenue Canada rules about "advocacy", we cannot provide a charitable receipt for donations to this campaign. However, if you require a charitable receipt and would like to support our research into energy policy and alternatives, please make a contribution to our sister organization, Ontario Clean Air Alliance Research Inc. You can support the Green Futures campaign right now by contributing securely through Paypal. You don't need a Paypal account and there are no fees. Just click on the button below. Alternatively, cheques can be mailed to: Ontario Clean Air Alliance If you have any questions, please contact Jessica Fracassi, Communications and Membership Director, at 416-926-1907 x245. |

Sign the petition for a Nuclear Cost Responsibility Act for Ontario Every nuclear construction project in Ontario's history has gone massively over budget. And we are all on the hook for these runaway costs, paying a nuclear debt surcharge on every kilowatt of electricity we use. Renewable and natural gas generating projects are strictly prohibited from passing on cost overruns to consumers or taxpayers. It’s time to level the playing field and end nuclear’s free ride.
