Japan under increasing pressure to accept outside nuclear help For many abroad, the latest revelations only demonstrate yet again that the crisis is too big for either Tepco or the government to handle, and that consulting international experts has to mean going outside Japan’s “nuclear power village” or the International Atomic Energy Agency, which, they note, also has a mandate to promote nuclear power.

In the 1950s when she started her work, x-rays were routinely used in foetal monitoring. It was Stewart who first showed the link between the practice and childhood leukemia. She went on to look at the effects of low-level radiation exposure - uncovering the true adverse effects of chronic exposure, and thus earning herself the enmity of the nuclear industry.

Ontario power fee sets new record The global adjustment -- a fee added to the market price of electricity in Ontario -- has reached a record high. But the real reason is not because of wind, or green energy, which only account for 6% of the global adjustment fee – the real reason is high cost nuclear power which accounts for 45% of the global adjustment fee.

Death by Energy - Why this is the time for Clean, Distributed, Democratic Energy 39 minute video lecture. Energy kills millions of people around the world every year. The solution to Death by Energy is obvious and is here now. Yet, governments continue to support obsolete energy sources that displace, disrupt, and end the lives of millions of their own citizens rather than transition to clean energy and save lives, create jobs, and build massive wealth in the process.

Take Action!

Reviewing Ontario's Long Term Energy Plan - Speak up now! The Ministry of Energy is consulting with the public and other stakeholders about their long-term energy plan. You’re invited to provide a formal submission, and/or attend a public open house.  Let them know that you favour conservation, hydro imports from Quebec, and green energy over high cost, dangerous nuclear new- and re-build projects. Speak out now before we get stuck with another 6 decades of nuclear waste, danger and debt. Great background info/materials here.
