Many smaller-scale power options, such as combined heat and power plants, offer much greater rates of efficiency than nuclear – up to 80-90% of the fuel used in these plants is turned into useful heat and power.  This means we can stretch conventional fuels much further and reduce emissions while we ramp up our use of zero emission renewable power supplies and increase efficiency. 

Renewable sources like wind, hydro and solar, in turn, can be linked together in smart systems that ensure that there is always power available from clean sources.

It sure beats the 33% fuel efficiency of nuclear plants that are leaving us with a growing pile of spent fuel rods that continue to radiate large amounts of dangerous energy.
